Samsung Galaxy s4! Monsterload of all features

I was a keen iPhone  user for 3 years. Then I switched to android with Samsung Galaxy S3 and from that day, I am hooked to android. So, I am an Appleboy turned Fandroid.

After using my GS3 for almost one year, I bought Samsung Galaxy S4  and this is the phone I must say is the best among all devices (under 5 inches display size). I don't feel the need to change the device anymore. I feel completed in all respect. Let me tell you why and in a common user perspective (no high tech, just layman)

It is super fast

This phone is super fast. If I compare it with my iPhone, its gives the same performance (only iPhone users can understand this). The window transition is very smooth. Even at multi-tasking, this phone rocks (\\m//). It is very snappy, crispy performance with no delays and very smooth transitions.

Awesome Battery Life

With a whooping supply for 2600mAh, its battery is a monster. You can rely on its battery for a whole working day (almost 12 hrs). If you want more juice then you can hunt for some battery cases or extra batteries.

Sleek Design

It fits in hand so beautifully that you feel so full and comfortable while holding it. It is only 7.9 mm thick.

Amazing display

I must say, this phone has an amazing display quality. With a resolution of 1080x1920, it is stocked with 441 ppi density which makes the pictures and text so live that you enjoy reading an watching media on it.

IR sensor

This a very big plus point for this device. I use the IR blaster facility as my TV/AC remote on daily bases. I have kept all my remote controls for television aside. I DON'T NEED ONE NOW. I am always ready with a IR remote control. And the default WatchON app on this device support majority of electronic items which support IR remote control facility.

Superb Camera

This beast dons a 13 MP shooter with absolutely fantastic software support. The default camera app has so many built-in options that you don't need any other camera app to work with. The image quality with this device is brilliant. Plus it records 1080P videos. JUST IMAGINE THE QUALITY.

Expandable Memory

It has an inbuilt memory of 16 GB and support upto 64 GB of micro SD card. What else you need!


These all are the very basic features that we require in our phone for daily use. But you can go deeper and deeper and explore fathom of features.

Facebook offers Rs 1.34 cr pay package to Allahabad student

Social networking giant Facebook has hired an engineering student here for a fat annual pay package of Rs 1.34 crore, one of the biggest offers made to alumnus of any technical institution of the country.

According to P Chakravarti, Director of the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), a B Tech student from the institute, who has requested that his name be withheld for "security reasons", received a letter on March 27 from Facebook confirming his appointment and the annual pay package on offer was stated to be USD 262,500 (around Rs 1.34 crore).

Interestingly, the MNNIT Director said the recruitment process began with a mail from Facebook "in October last year which was followed by nine rounds of telephonic interviews" before he was finally selected for the plush job which would require the student, who hails from Kanpur, to move to Menlo Park in California after finishing his software engineering course at the institute.

"Many students from our institute have bagged lucrative jobs. We have knowledge of at least 30 of our alumni getting selected with packages of more than Rs 10 lakh from companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe etc", Chakravarti said.

"However, this one has been unprecedented and we are sure that no other student from any of the other institutions in the city or the more than two dozen National Institutes of Technology across the country has so far been offered such an awesome pay package", he added.

Today we're going to give you the up and up on how to install Ubuntu or Lubuntu on your Samsung Galaxy S2. Will this be a difficult task? Yes, a little bit, but together we're gonna get that Linux love running your Galaxy S2 in no time.

To get started, you'll need to be rooted. If you're not, then this simply will not work, so we're going to assume you're using a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 in the first place.

The next thing you're going to need are the following files:

1. Ubuntu Image File

2. Installation Script

If the links aren't working for you, you can always find more in the XDA link at the bottom. Additionally, this tutorial will help you install Lubuntu, as it is lighter and works better with the Galaxy S II.

Now that you've got everything prepared, let's get this show on the road.

The first thing you do is take both of those files you downloaded and place them on the root of your SD Card. Can you put them somewhere else? Yes, you can. Do you want to? Unless you're familiar with changing directories in a terminal, I highly recommend that you don't.

Once there, you're going to grab Terminal Emulator from the Android Market if you don't have it yet.

To recap so far, you've got the Ubuntu image and script on your SD card and Terminal Emulator installed. Now, it's time for good old installation goodness.

You're going to open the Terminal Emulator and type the following commands. Make sure you follow the instructions exactly or bad things will happen. Things that are even worse than season 3 of Misfits.

su
*hit enter and accept root permission*
cd sdcard
*hit enter*
sh ubi.sh

If everything was prepared properly, then you'll receive a lot of text telling you that if you have more than 255 apps installed on your device than it won't work. If you don't, it'll start installing. If you do, then you're in my prayers.

Once finished, you'll need to download a VNC Client for Android. I personally prefer this one because it has my favorite feature; it's free.

Open it and enter the following information:

Password: ubuntu
Address: localhost
Port: 5900

Then hit connect. Finally, you simply need to set up your mouse. In order to do so, first hit Menu and select Input Mode then Touchpad. At this point, you may gingerly place your phone upon the nearest surface and do a quick victory dance.

To turn it off, hit Menu then Disconnect. In the Terminal Emulator window that's still open, simply hit Menu and Close Window.

There you have it, you have some Ubuntu goodness installed on your Samsung Galaxy S II for whatever you may need it for. Personally, I'd go with bragging rights, but some people do good work in Ubuntu.
